Cheap Good Quality Wood Pencil

Whether you are an artist or just someone who likes to write, drawing, and color with pencils can be an amazing activity.cheap good quality wood pencil It can even be relaxing! A quality wood pencil is a great choice as they are sturdy, write smoothly and have good pigmentation. If you are on a budget or just need an everyday workhorse pencil, these Pen + Gear wood pencils from Walmart are a great choice. They have a dark, smooth and firm lead and perform well in testing. They are also very inexpensive at 4 cents a pencil (back to school sale price) and 97 cents at regular price. You can’t beat that!

The Blackwing 602 pencil is a high-end US made pencil with a long history.cheap good quality wood pencil They are widely regarded by pencil aficionados as being one of the best wood-cased graphite pencils in the world, alongside premium brands such as Derwent and Faber-Castell. The 602 uses Californian Cedarwood which is a very durable, high-quality wood that makes for a premium writing experience, along with a firm, smooth and consistent Japanese graphite core.

This is a limited edition pencil produced in collaboration with Nespresso. It comes in a beautiful coffee bean shaped box with cutouts and debossing to showcase the pencils inside. They look almost identical to the standard Swiss Wood Caran d’Ache pencil but with different branding and colors. The wood used is a mixture of Abachi, Ayous and Poplar which are all exotic woods so I am uncertain about their sustainability but the website does say they are FSC certified.

These pencils have a very nice uniform appearance and are easy to sharpen. The lead is very soft and a bit darker than the standard Albert Durer pencils but still good for drawing. The pencils are a little cheaper than the Swiss Wood ones but still not cheap.

The Hermitage 510 pencil is another good option for artists and professionals who need a high-end pencil at a more affordable price. They are a bit darker than the Hermitage 650 but still fairly soft for an artist. They are also made from a more durable wood, Cedar Pointe, which is the most common wood type for high-end pencils. They are very smooth and dark with a firm graphite core.

They are a little heavier than the other options but still not very heavy. They are a very nice pencil with an elegantly striped, smoky-brown, lacquer-finished exterior that matches the gold ferrule and pink eraser. The core is a standard HB grade and they are a very comfortable pencil to use.

Ultimately, I think this is the best choice for someone looking to get an excellent pencil at a very reasonable price. The only drawback is the lack of an eraser hole. I recommend keeping any pencils made of wood in a case or a plastic bag to protect them from moisture and prevent soaking which can damage the graphite and wood. Pencils made of sturdier woods such as Cedar, Linden, and Weymouth pine can withstand more moisture than the other types but you should always check to make sure before buying.
